My side of the family (the Motes side, since I use to be a Motes 😉 took family pictures! My mom wanted to keep the color scheme pretty neutral, so we did blues and grays with everyone in jeans and closed-toe black or gray shoes. I think they ended up matching really well! We had the boys in plaid so that there was a good pattern in there to bring the different shades together. The girls all got their shirts from Kohls and the boys all wore shirts they already had in their closet! Which worked out super good, who doesn’t love shopping in their own closet 🙂
One thing we did that was a little different this time was that at the end we took a photo with all of us in Santa Hats. This will likely be my parents Christmas card next year, but what I really hope they do is blow the photo up and put it above their mantel when Christmas time comes around again! I love the idea of having a Christmas specific photo to display during Christmas time, I think it will really tie the whole house together! Butttt, I am kinda in love with Christmas so I know this may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I think it would be so fun. Jaron and I took a pic of just us in the Santa Hat’s and hopefully next year we will be somewhere that I can blow it up big and put above the mantel 🙂 It’s a bit of a day dream, but maybe someday!!
